Daniel Turner (Technical Lead, Rivers Trust and Natural Course) delivered a presentation titled ‘Collaborative Water Management in North West England’.

It started with an overview of how our partnership delivery has a focus on nature-based solutions that maximise both environmental and social benefits for local communities, and then moved on to focus on the Wyre Natural Flood Management Investment Readiness project.

He discussed how we developed a natural flood risk management (NFM) evidence base, and how it has been used to underpin development of an innovative financial model, designed to draw investment to fund capital NFM delivery through contracts between buyers (whose who will benefit from the intervention) and sellers (farmers and landowners who will host and manage the interventions).
